Have you ever wondered how to ethically manage, publish, and share qualitative data? If so, you will want to attend this next edition of Social Science Fridays!
This third session of our series will provide an overview of options for sharing qualitative data, with a focus on resources provided by the Qualitative Data Repository (QDR). QDR’s Senior Curation Specialist, Dessi Kirilova, will demonstrate how QDR’s deposit process works. She will also offer real-world examples of nuanced data sharing possibilities, including of sensitive data that is secured under varying levels of access control. Researchers who attend this session will gain a better understanding of qualitative data sharing norms and practices in the social, behavioral, and health sciences. You will also learn of simple steps to best manage qualitative research materials, which will help with project planning and enable future archiving and re-use of carefully collected materials.
This edition of Social Science Fridays is geared toward those who use qualitative or multi-method techniques in their research—such as faculty, graduate students, and independent researchers, and the staff who support them. This session will offer timely and practical guidance for those submitting federal or nonprofit funding proposals for which a data management / sharing plan (DMP or DMSP) is required. Please join us!
