CONVERGE Extreme Events Research Check Sheets

Details

Recorded Forum: June 15, 2021
Time: 10 to 10:30 am MT

Description

Are you new to social science hazards and disaster research? Do you mentor students or other early-career extreme events researchers? Are you looking for resources to help kickstart a disaster research project? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we hope you will watch this brief 30-minute recorded webinar that describes and showcases the CONVERGE Extreme Events Research Check Sheets.

These short check sheets offer best practice guidance for extreme events research and are meant to be used as researchers design their studies, prepare to enter the field, conduct field research, and exit the field. Presenters provided an overview of currently available check sheets and described how to access them. You can hear from some of the check sheet authors during the webinar and learn how you can contribute to the series.

The CONVERGE Extreme Events Research Check Sheets—developed with support from the National Science Foundation and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction—are available via the CONVERGE website. The CONVERGE team regularly adds new check sheets to the series, and we encourage you to access the check sheets in advance of the webinar.

The webinar is recorded and posted on the CONVERGE webinar series page. Please also sign-up for future events and free resources at the CONVERGE website.
