This Working Group will address issues facing the Deep South (LA, MS, AL, and GA), where existing inequalities and prior disasters may exacerbate the toll of COVID-19. Researchers will focus on issues including health outcomes and disparities; healthcare availability and workforce retention; and economic vulnerability to COVID-19 based on reliance upon affected industries (e.g., agrifood systems, oil/gas, and tourism).
